Since players will want to be able to quickly eliminate the spores once vulnerable, rapid-firing close-quarters weapons excel when it comes to tackling the Spore Control contract. Due to the number of zombies that spawn to defend the spores, it can be difficult to weave shots through the horde and hit spores from longer distances. Shotguns like the Haymaker or the Riveter, or SMGs like any of the Lachmann or Striker models, are excellent for their high mobility and high rate of DPS at close range - allowing players to dodge the zombies to get close to the spore once vulnerable, quickly blast down the health of the spore, then quickly move on before the horde is able to swarm onto players.
