For the majority of players, the only time they ever engage in a battle is when there are trophies or chest rewards on the line.
This article explores why utilizing the Friendly Battle system is the secret weapon of every top-tier competitive player.
The Safe Zone for Experimentation
The primary use of Friendly Battles is to test brand new, unproven deck concepts before risking them on the competitive ladder.
This allows F2P players to find out exactly how a maxed-out deck will perform without having to spend millions of gold upgrading the cards first.
- Learn exactly what health a tower must be at for your Rocket to finish it.
- If you lose to a specific card on the ladder, ask a clanmate to play that card against you repeatedly until you figure out the counter.
- Friendly Battles are great for building clan morale.
Drilling Micro-Interactions
Beyond macro-level deck testing, Friendly Battles are the only place you can safely 'drill' incredibly specific micro-interactions.
You practice the exact placement over and over again until it becomes pure, thoughtless muscle memory.
| The Objective | How to Drill It |
|---|
| Mastering Spell Timing (e.g., Predictive Logs) | Have your partner repeatedly throw Goblin Barrels while you practice releasing the Log at the exact optimal millisecond |
| Learning Aggro Ranges (Kiting) | Have your partner drop a P.E.K.K.A; practice placing an Ice Golem on different center tiles to see which one pulls the P.E.K.
