Replacement components address either of two aims: repair or extracting more
performance. A performance exhaust change where the power arrives as well as maximum horsepower. Suspension usually delivers the largest improvement per dollar spent. Specify components according to your riding rather than race specification.
Tyre selection affects grip and
DirtTrackMasters handling far more than any other single part. Sand and mud tyres feature widely spaced lugs that dig in. Hard pack tires feature closer knobs for a larger contact area. Using the wrong pattern sacrifices performance and longevity.
Chain and sprocket sets wear as a set, and fitting a new chain to worn sprockets shortens the life of both. Sprocket size changes trade acceleration for top end: going up at the rear sharpens response while it costs top end. Proper adjustment plus cleaning and lubing substantially extend service life.

Top end rebuilds remain routine maintenance on a dirt bike. Two-stroke top ends call for more frequent rebuilds than four-strokes. A complete kit comes with piston, rings, gaskets and bearings. Measuring cylinder wear before ordering determines whether the cylinder needs work.
